My short-hand bio reads: project junkie, hopeless bibliophile, learning enthusiast, mediocre home cook and transnational feminist. Sometimes I write, sometimes I draw. This website is HQ to some of my past and current projects and collaborations. My official bio is posted below.

Charlene Sayo is the co-author of Canada: The New Frontier for Filipino Mail-Order Brides. She has spoken on issues regarding Filipino-Canadian women, youth, migration/immigration, and independent feminist media across Canada, the United States and Europe.

The former Executive Director of the Philippine Women Centre of B.C., Charlene has hosted and produced shows for Co-op Radio such Tining ng Masa, Media Mornings, and the F-Word Feminist Media Collective. She was an editor at Mainlander Magazine, and has been published in the Vancouver Sun, The Globe and Mail, The Manila Times, The Philippine Chronicle, Accent Magazine, The Huffington Post, and currently blogs at Medium. In 2012, Charlene was featured in the award-winning documentary, Status Quo? The Unfinished Business of Feminism.

Presently, Charlene is curating Lost Pinay History, a digital archive about the Philippine Women Centre of B.C., launching in fall 2021.
